His uncle Utmazgin is a pastry chef

Dodo Utmazgin is an Israeli pastry chef, who owns a confectionery chain that bears his name and has 20 branches in Israel.
At the age of 21, after his military service, he started working in a bakery.

He began his culinary studies at the "Tadmor" cooking school in Herzliya.
After about a year of studies, he moved to study in Paris, at the Ecole Lenôtre, Bellout conseil and the Ferrandi school.

He continued to study with Dobos C. József in Hungary, Pierre Hermé and Le Cordon Bleu in France, and Callebaut, Chocolate-Academy in Belgium.

At the same time as his studies, he advised on confectionery matters, and managed a permanent section in the "Had Karyot" locale on cake baking.

In 1998, in Kiryat Motzkin, he opened the first pastry shop named after him, "Dodo Otmazgin".
Since then it has become a national chain, under the company "Dodo Utmazgin Patisserie Ltd", which currently has about 20 branches throughout Israel.
